The team at Brig Royd has been providing high quality care for patients in the Ripponden and surrounding area for many years. In 2009 we moved to a large purpose built surgery in the centre of Ripponden which allows us to offer a wide range of services to our patients.
The practice GPs have a wide range of specialist clinical interests. We have five male Doctors – Drs. Bhatti, Hussain and Raymond, Lau and Otegbayo and six female Doctors, Greasley, Dr. Freeda Bhatti, Dr Emily O’Leary, Dr Claire Stansfield. and Iroegbu, also ANP Lucy Greenwood.
Brig Royd Surgery is a training practice and you may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar or nurse. A GP registrar is a fully qualified doctor who is gaining experience in General Practice before looking for a practice of their own. Medical Students and Nurses sometimes train here as part of their extended role.

We are very proud to say that we are an accredited Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Practice. GSF is a model of good practice that enables a ‘gold standard’ of care for people who are nearing the end of their lives. It is concerned with helping people live well until they die.
Our practice consists of 9 GP’s who have a range of clinical knowledge between them. We have four male Doctors – Dr Azam, Dr Sowden, Dr Remi and Dr Sadiq, plus five female Doctors – Dr Yar, Dr Williams, Dr Hammond, Dr Mahmood and Dr Javid.

We are delighted to announce that we have a very talented doctor working at the practice called Dr Sophie Newton. Dr Newton has produced some wonderful educational videos which we hope our patients will enjoy and educate themselves too!
Our 6 GPs continue to provide high-quality, compassionate and personalised care for our local community. We have three male and three female GP’s.
As we are a training practice, you may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar. GP Registrars are qualified doctors undertaking specialist training in general practice and work under the supervision of experienced GPs.
